Park Island Transport Company Limited operates bus and ferry services between Ma Wan Island and other parts of Hong Kong territory. It was established in 2002. Park Island is a major private housing estate on the island. Corporate structure PITCL was originally created as a joint venture company between a wholly owned subsidiary of the KMB Group (operator of Kowloon Motor Bus) and a wholly owned subsidiary of Hong Kong & Kowloon Ferry Limited (HKKF). On 14 December 2005, HKKF divested its share of PITCL and PITCL became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Transport International Holdings Limited. Bus PITCL operates two bus routes: * NR330 - Ma Wan (Park Island) to Tsing Yi (in Tsing Yi Station) * NR332 - Ma Wan (Park Island) to Kwai Fong (between Metroplaza and Kwai Tsing Theatre, near Kwai Fong Station) The buses that operate in these two routes are ten second-hand Dennis Dart SLFs bought from KMB. In 2004, because of the rapid growth of residents in Park Island, the company bought new Dennis Dart SPDs from the UK and the very first Designline electronic-motivated HEV bus from New Zealand which is more environmentally friendly. PITCL was a joint venture company between a wholly owned subsidiary of The Kowloon Motor Bus Holdings Limited and a wholly owned subsidiary of Hong Kong & Kowloon Ferry Limited. On 13 December 2005, the wholly owned subsidiary of Transport International Holdings Limited (formerly known as "The Kowloon Motor Bus Holdings Limited") acquired the interest of PITCL from the wholly owned subsidiary of Hong Kong & Kowloon Ferry Limited; PITCL becomes an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Transport International Holdings Limited. We pledge to provide a fast and efficient transport network, connecting Ma Wan Island to Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories. In addition to providing safe, efficient and user-friendly bus and ferry services, we also strive to maintain a fresh and healthy living environment to match the environmental protection development plan for Park Island. Ferry Services We operate a fleet of 7 high-speed double-deck air-conditioned catamarans plying between Park Island and Central with a journey time of about 25 minutes as well as between Park Island and Tsuen Wan West Rail Station with journey time of about 15 minutes. Bus Services We employ a fleet of 18 single-deck super-low-floor buses for three shuttle routes: to and fro Park Island among Tsing Yi Airport Railway Station, Kwai Fong Metroplaza and Hong Kong International Airport. Two out of these three routes are operated round the clock. The journey time *of each route is about 12 minutes, 18 minutes and 30 minutes respectively. With our commitment to environmental protection, we introduced electric-diesel hybrid buses, the first of its kind in Hong Kong SAR, for our shuttle services. *Note: The abovementioned journey time is calculated from terminus to next terminus including the pick-up and drop-off of passengers at bus stops. The actual journey time is subject to traffic conditions.
