New World First Ferry Services Limited

(in short New World First Ferry, First Ferry or NWFF) is a ferry company in Hong Kong.

The company was established in November 1999, when it took over the 10 routes from the Hongkong and Yaumati Ferry. It is jointly owned by Chow Tai Fook Enterprises Limited and NWS Holdings Limited.

When the company commenced its service on the 2000-01-15, it took over 10 ordinary ferries and rented 7 hovercrafts and catamarans from its predecessor. Since then it introduced 10 fast vessels on Outlying Islands routes to phase out the rented vessels and to improve services.

It operates the following routes:

* Central to Cheung Chau, Mui Wo, and Peng Chau
* Circular between Tsim Sha Tsui, Mui Wo, Cheung Chau (service terminated from 2006-11-13)
* Circular between Peng Chau, Mui Wo, Chi Ma Wan, and Cheung Chau
* North Point to Hung Hom and Kowloon City
* Tuen Mun to Tung Chung
* North Point to Joss House Bay (大廟灣) (operates only on Tin Hau-birthday-festival)

It operated the following routes as well:

* Tuen Mun, Tung Chung, Sha Lo Wan, and Tai O (Service taken over by Fortune Ferry with effect from 2005-09-01)
* Tuen Mun to Tai O (Weekends Only) (Service taken over by Fortune Ferry with effect from 2005-08-27)

Its sister company, New World First Ferry Services (Macau) Limited, operates a service from Kowloon (China Ferry Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui) to Macau (Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Pier).

NWFF and NWFF(Macau) Corporate Video

New World First Ferry Services Limited is jointly owned by Chow Tai Fook Enterprises Limited and NWS Holdings Limited ("NWS Holdings"). First Ferry commenced its service on 15 January 2000, and operates a total of seven outlying and inner harbour ferry routes at present.

Under the same umbrella, New World First Ferry Servicos Maritimos (Macau) Limitada [First Ferry (Macau)] has been operating ferry service between Macau and Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong since January 2000.

"Customer First and Foremost" is our corporate mission. Quality people and a reliable vessel fleet of First Ferry strive to provide a safe and comfortable journey to the commuting public.

Our Fleet
Upon commencement of service in early 2000, First Ferry and First Ferry (Macau) invested over HK$150 million to acquire a fleet of 15 vessels and auxiliary assets and implement a series of service enhancement programmes.

First Ferry and First Ferry (Macau) believe in perpetual improvement. To upgrade our vessel fleet, First Ferry and First Ferry (Macau) have committed over HK$700 million to acquire a new fleet of 17 high-speed catamarans since 2000. With the capacity to comfortably accommodate 200 to 400 passengers, each of the new double-deck catamaran is capable of reaching a maximum speed ranging from 26 to 42 knots. The new high-speed catamarans are earmarked to provide luxurious sea voyage, they are equipped with the latest navigational aids and are well appointed with strong focus on passenger comfort. As a responsible corporate citizen, First Ferry and First Ferry (Macau) care for the environment and the catamarans are coated with non-toxic anti-fouling paint to help preserve the environment.
