"Jacky Cheung donates memorabilia to Hard Rock | AboutHK.Com - more information about HK"

Hong Kong pop star Jacky Cheung donated a guitar and two outfits for the coming Tuesday to the Hard Rock Hotel in Macau, the first ethnic Chinese musicians to order items in the Hard Rock memorabilia collection.

The 47-year-old singer has a guitar at a donation ceremony and presented with two sequined sweater fabric, of which one with a white bow tie.

Noting that one of Eric Clapton's guitar was the first item donated to Hard Rock's memorabilia collection, Cheung joked that "I can not play guitar, and musicians like him, but I'm glad that my articles will be with them."

Cheung is one of the biggest acts in the idol-driven Chinese-language pop scene known for its rock ballads more than numbers. The veteran artist began as a pop singer, and just learned how to play guitar and compose music, and later in his career.

The inclusion of Cheung guitar and clothing in the memorabilia collection reflects the company's desire to participate in a wider Asian market.

"We try to make new contacts with consumers, the different trees, different tastes and different musical upbringing," Hard Rock International Chief Executive Hamish Dodds told reporters.

The 300-room Hard Rock Hotel Macau will be part of the City of Dreams casino-hotel complex planned for in June.
