Hong Kong shares fell 0.33 percent in cautious trade as losses in Chinese banks on fears of further monetary tightening outweighed gains in property stocks.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index .HSI ended down 0.33 percent or 68.17 points at 20,399.57. The China Enterprises Index .HSCE of top locally listed mainland Chinese stocks closed down 0.91 percent at 11,388.50.
