Hong Kong 5 new confirmed cases of influenza A/H1N1

Five persons were positive for influenza A/H1N1 virus in Hong Kong on Saturday, with the number of confirmed cases of the disease in the city to 78, the health of the local authorities said.

The Center for Health Protection in Hong Kong has confirmed four imported cases, while a still unclassified.

Of the four imported cases, one involved a 28-year-old Philippine maid who flew from the Philippines earlier. She developed symptoms on 11 June and was hospitalized on 12 June for the quarantine, said the Center controller Thomas Tsang at a press conference, adding that the employer, the patient under medical supervision and treatment.

The other three cases were imported from the USA, Canada and Thailand, in which two men and one woman, aged 17 to 27 who are rushed to the hospital directly from the airport when they arrived in Hong Kong.

The case that has not yet been classified, a 19-year-old woman who showed flu symptoms, and confirmed infected with the flu on 12 new June.

Tsang said that the patient visited the province of Jiangxi to the mainland in early June and came to Guangzhou, where they are to Hong Kong on 10 June on the rail.

"Since she had been in different places during the incubation period, the case is not yet classified," said Tsang.
